The Florence Beinnale (http://www.florencebiennale.org/indexeng.html) is an international art event. Over 3,000 submissions are reviewed before the selection of artists. Only 768 artists from 80 countries are asked to participate. Out of the 768 artists, only 20 are selected from New York City.

Over 25,000 people attend the week long festival, a major international showcase for both emerging and established artists.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA, Joey Kilrain learned art through family, Catholic school, and adventure. His work can be divided into two topics, the whimsical paintings and raw drawings.

According to Joey, "The whimsical paintings have three definitive subjects: family & friends, my personal adventures, and corporate America. The raw drawings focus on my upbringing as a child, and climatic moments in my life. I pay close attention to the detail of these works using limited colors."

"I was selected for two reasons: my unique form of expression and how I tell stories through my work" said Joey Kilrain. "The work I create is easy to understand, whimsical, and full of life. And clients purchase my work because it is easy to relate to the stories I portray."
